Chocolate Banana Bread


Chocolate Protein Banana Bread 🍫🍌πŸ’ͺ 115 cal, 6g protein per slice πŸ’ͺ .

Wet:
- 2 spotty bananas mashed (260 gr)
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup greek yogurt (56 gr) (See notes below for substitutions. I used full fat Fage.)
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Dry:
- 1 big scoop of chocolate protein powder (35 gr) (I used Organic Valley protein)
- 3/4 cup whole wheat flour (90 gr)
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp coarse salt
- 2 tbsp semisweet chocolate chips (28 gr)

Makes 8 thick slices. Preheat oven to 350F and grease an 8x4 loaf pan. Combine all wet and mix all dry separately. Pour dry into wet and combine to incorporate, do not overmix. Transfer to loaf pan and sprinkle tops with chocolate chips. Bake for about 30-40 minutes until the center is done. Let it cool completely on a wire rack before slicing. NOTE: If you want to use nonfat or reduced fat yogurt I recommend adding 1/2 tbsp melted butter (7 gr) or nut butter (8 gr) in with the wet ingredients.

Now I'm not going to lie, it has a chewier texture than my usual banana bread due to the protein, but here's the trick: warm it quickly in the microwave and it's soft! Smear with some nut butter or cream cheese to up the protein. Enjoy!
